Garden Designing: Making It Fit & Watching It Grow – Loving The Process

Garden design to meet your needs, making it all fit, watching it grow as you live and love the process.

You can say this applies to all aspects of our lives the idea of watching things grow as we live and love the process. At least this is what I would like to believe. Everything is about the process and today I want to draw attention to the designers intention, the designers EYE, the process of contrived design intentions. I won’t speak for all but I can clearly define that which I have learned and come to trust. The balance of knowing your space, plants that fill the space over time and the management and maintenance to keep the value. Here we go…

I look out into the void and I see light, shapes, textures and crossing shades of colors. I envision endless possibilities with variations that go on forever. I could draw you a picture, take a photograph and even sculpt my intentions. Unfortunlty nothing demonstrates the dept of what I see more then the plants growing and developing in the living earth. I choose them based on how I know they are to grow. How they respond to pruning, when the time comes they need that care. How they cooperate and collaborate with other surrounding plants. In the end, for me, it represents a contemporary dance routine. The many dancers, having trained in their specific role, now given freedom to move with the music (seasons), the winds and the lighting. It becomes magical. If only you could see what I see (I have given you some pictures to help get you there).

Through the curtains of light and dark the magic reveals.

In the end you need to believe. Actually I correct myself when I say “In the beginning you must believe anything is possible.” With that said, you discover that what the mind thinks and feels manifests itself in the real world, but you must first believe.

A walk that takes you on a journey. Slow down as you go and breath in the wonders.

My reality dictates that there is always work to be done, learning to be had and understand to build the wonderland we can imagine. Ideas do take time. Materials do cost money. Building and creating do take effort. I am in a constant state of hope that these things manifest with practical knowledge and experience. The dreamers are out there with the builders and the money to support the process. My ultimate goal it to let everyone know, teach everyone who is willing to listen, that there are people out there who know how to piece together the puzzle and care for it’s ongoing development. Time to come out of the shadows and engage in the process. If it be for gardening, for personal health, for community service or for whatever that which you aspire. With each step you become better, stronger and you make us all better and stronger as well.
